The Harry Potter author has been widely condemned for spreading anti-trans rhetoric.

Rowling, another person who shall not be named in certain circles.

“J.K. Rowling has written these great books about empowerment, about young children finding themselves as human beings.
“The verbal abuse directed at her is disgusting, it’s appalling.
I mean, I can understand a viewpoint that might be angry at what she says about women.

But it’s not some obscene, uber-right-wing fascist.
And I understand where she’s coming from.
Even though I’m not a woman.”
Rowling has said she supports LGBTQ individuals, including trans people.
Last year, Fiennes toldThe Telegraphin the U.K., “I can’t understand the vitriol directed at her.
Rowling has experienced a lot of criticism for her views, including from prominent LGBTQ organizations likeGLAADandThe Trevor Project.
But those critiques seem to make her more adamant about sharing this kind of rhetoric.
No arrests have been made.
“You think, in what world are you canceled?
I think [‘cancel culture’] is the wrong word.
I think the word should be accountability.”
“Talk to the parents of trans kids.
Talk to doctors, talk to psychiatrists.
Talk to someone who can illuminate this in some way.”
