At the convention,Ackles explained, “He was in a very bad car accident.
He wasn’t driving, he was in the passenger seat, and he’s lucky to be alive.
Ackles gave a few more details, saying that there had been no fatalities and that Padalecki is recuperating.
“That airbag packs a punch,” Ackles added.
“He was like, ‘I feel like I went 12 rounds with Tyson.'”
But don’t worry: As Ackles said, “He’ll be back with us soon.”
Representatives for Padalecki did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment Monday.
