During an interview on EW’s3 Roundsvideo series, McCarthy discusses Ursula’s signature dance move: her shimmy.
“John kept saying, lean into it and he kept shaking,” McCarthy recalls.
Shake, shake, shake when you do your shimmy.'"
Eventually, McCarthy had to illustrate the difference between their shimmy and hers.
She told Marshall, “When you shake your shoulders really hard, one thing happens.
“And he was like, ‘What?’
And then I showed him and he was like [gasps].”
Despite her concerns, McCarthy admits that she still gave it her all and “did it anyway.”
“No one’s ready for Melissa McCarthy,” Miranda said of her performance.
“She brings all of the delicious camp from the original, but then also is just scary.
