The acclaimed director wanted to be able to just “sit and enjoy” the films like everybody else.

“By the time they were screening, I was immersed in it for five or six years.

It was such a loss for me not be able to see them like everyone else.

But don’t cry for Peter Jackson, Middle-earth.

“I’ll be watching it,” Jackson said of the billion-dollar series.

“I’m not the sort of guy who wishes ill will.

Filmmaking is hard enough.

If somebody makes a good film or TV show, it’s something to celebrate.

The one thing I am looking forward to is actually seeing it as a perfectly neutral viewer.”
