Tabloid magazines owe a debt of gratitude toMichael Chefor bringingPete DavidsonandKim Kardashiantogether.

“You are quite the matchmaker,” hostHoward Sternsaid, prompting laughter from Che.

“Look at all the trouble you started.

Now [Davidson] is ensconced in this Kardashian lifestyle.

Did he ever come to you and say, ‘Thank you for writing this’?”

After Stern lamented that there had better have been a thank-you, Che quipped, “Absolutely not.

He hasn’t mentioned it.

In fact, this is the first I’ve heard they’re dating.

Is it serious?”

Davidson and Kardashian started dating shortly after herSNLhosting debut.

“I was just thinking like, ‘Heard about this BDE, need to get out there.’

I was just basically DTF.”

(Che made headlines last month when hetold theNew York Timeshe was mulling an exit.)

ButSNLboss Lorne Michaels had other plans.

“I 100 percent was leaving,” Che said.

“The whole time, Lorne was like, ‘Yeah, okay.’

I 100 percent told them I was leaving at the beginning of the season.

Like, ‘I’m done.

I can’t do it.

I’m finished, I’m finished.’

And no one believed it.”
